Successful on 30th Jun 2019 at 7:00AM.

This project is a collaborative twilight event hosted by Jane Hunter, Katherine Bates and Rick Flowers in the School of Education in partnership with TeachMeet NSW from 4-6.30pm on Thursday 24 October in the UTS LX lab.

It's designed to highlight exciting gamification and futures scenario examples being used in tertiary and school education contexts.

Attending the workshop is FREE and you will have the opportunity to :

  • Hear 2, 5, and 7 minute presentations from academics across UTS as well as teachers in local schools who use scenario and gamification principles in teaching and learning
  • Work in a small team on one of seven 'futures scenarios' that were first showcased at an extraordinary exhibition at the Victoria & Albert in London in 2018
  • Pick up some excellent critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and game-based ideas for your own units, subjects and courses
  • Be collegial and enjoy drinks and canapes afterwards with colleagues and precinct community members - all part of the UTS 2027 Strategy.

Note: If the event is funded you will need to register for it through an events page distributed closer to the date.

How The Funds Will Be Used

The funds will be used to:

  • purchase recyclable materials to create artefacts to explain scenario resolutions
  • cover the cost of drinks and canapes out on the LX lab terrace
  • record a show reel of highlights for "Real Words" - a wordpress blog used to showcase content created by preservice teachers in the School of Education.
