Help bring GLAMSLAM back in 2019 for a LIVE podcast recording at a venue in Sydney, run in conjunction with 2SER, the State Library of NSW and the City of Sydney.

GLAM stands for Galleries, Libraries Archives and Museums

These institutions are our society's culture keepers and meaning makers. Since 2018, the Australian Centre for Public History has hosted GLAMSLAM as an annual, participatory, sector-wide forum for those working in and with cultural institutions. The event has been hugely successful, attracting over 140 attendees and selling out each year, stimulating difficult conversation and new initiatives.  But its impact has been limited by its one-off annual nature and attendees have repeatedly called for opportunities to continue the conversations raised at GLAMSLAM throughout the year.

This event will consolidate and expand the GLAM conversation both by producing a new GLAMSLAM live event and broadcasting it on 2SER and via podcast, thereby reaching wider audiences:

  • a live "in-conversation" hosted by A/Prof Anna Clark at City of Sydney venue,
  • recorded and then broadcast and podcast by 2SER.
  • invited speakers from GLAM institutions including Sydney Living Museums, MAAS, National Maritime Museum, State Library of NSW, the Australian Museum, the Art Gallery of NSW
  • open to all who work in or with GLAM institutions, and UTS staff and students

The funding will be used to fund basic catering and marketing for the event with in-kind support including recording, venue hire & speakers provided by our collaborating partners (2SER, SLNSW and City of Sydney).
