Sydney's Feminist Writers Festival
Melbourne's had its own Feminist Writers Festival since 2014. Now, in partnership with Melbourne, it's Sydney's turn.
For two glorious days on November 2 and 3, fantastic feminist writers will talk about their ideas, their work and why it all matters.
But running a festival always costs more money than you'd think (damn those pricy interstate plane fares - plus the people we invited said yes! Normally you only get a low success rate with invites!).
So please pledge - here are the numbers you need
Card Number: 4111 1111 1111 1111
Expiry: 12/20
CCV number: 123
Confirmed speakers include Anita Heiss, Larissa Behrendt (plus a screening of her new film), After the Apology, Kerryn Goldsworthy, our own Anna Funder and Debra Adelaide, Bri Lee, Monica Dux - and there will be many more terrific names to come, in a series of panels from "Why Women Read Fiction - and Men Don't" to "Writing About Family Violence" (that one's chaired by me but I've promised to be as non-participating as it is possible for me to be. Also, no promises).
It's still a work in progress - but, thanks to UTS's Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion, we've got the beautiful Gehry building for two whole days for talking, writing and talking about writing.
How The Funds Will Be Used
This money will be used to pay for plane fares and accommodation for speakers from interstate.
